Malik (Preview)

With back to back promising films releasing, here is yet another film to look forward to. ‘Malik’ is an upcoming political thriller film based on the life of the business tycoon Malik Riaz, who is the founder and owner of Baharia Town.  The film has been directed, written and produced by Ashir Azeem. Moreover, Humayun Saeed with his powerful dialogue delivery plays the role of ‘Malik’ while the talented ‘Urwa Hocane’ will be featured as his wife. In an interview Urwa Hocane described Malik as an accurate biography of Malik Riaz. In addition to this, the cast includes Farhan Ali Agha, Hassan Niazi, Sabreen Baloch, Mariam Ansari and Ashir Azeem himself.

A first view trailer for the film was released in December 2014. The 3 minute trailer starts with a peak into Malik Riaz’s dark past, and then shows him rising from the murkiness to the successful man that he has become today. The trailer shows him addressing to a press conference where he tells everyone that he is no politician, minister or lawyer and that he is just an uneducated labour who has come this far only because of his hard work and determination. The movie also brings into view the flaws that any economy may contain and how wealth is so unfairly distributed amongst many parts of the world. ‘Malik’ is scheduled to release on the 14th of August and is a motivation for everyone, since a peak into Malik Riaz’s past definitely means that nothing is impossible if we refuse to give up and keep on striving for our goals.
