Being a university student in Pakistan isn’t that all handy dandy. Whether you’re the elitist business student in the country’s top university, hail from underrated engineering institutes or are your parent’s favorite, becoming the new doctor of the family, we all face the same societal pressures and thinking of our country’s traditions like no other.

But it’s always good to get some things off your mind and relax for a while by watching some classic movies, which definitely leave an impact on your life and change your thinking positively. 1. Dead Poets Society (1989)


Rated 8/10 on IMDB, Robin Williams as the teacher of an extraordinary classroom set in 1959 of a boarding school embarks the journey of changing mindsets of young individuals by saying “Carpediem” which means “seize the day”.  He inspires them by telling them that the only limitations are within ourselves and motivates them to stay out of the societal dilemmas and emphasizes on changing what we hate and keep what we love.

This motion picture has love, riot, jealousy, a lynch mob and all the goodies one can imagine to have in a movie.

Number 3 on our list is this magnificent masterpiece! It’s related to the thing you’d probably heard of GenyWorld. That’s right! We’re talking about the one and only your daily eat-sleep-repeat hobby FACEBOOK! The movie kicks in when two Harvard students create an On-Campus social networking site which leads to become the world’s most known website of all time. But with great success comes great rivalry and when all things seem to be top-notch, Mark Zuckerburg gets sued by two brothers for theft of intellectual property. Not only this, his partner Eduardo Saverin also demands to be separate when he feels he was getting sidelined by Mark.

For you being a university student, this is a must watch movie as it inspires entrepreneurs and tech-lovers to follow their dreams and embrace a journey of their own!


  1. The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)

Probably the most inspiring movie you’ll ever see and remember for the rest of your life. Will Smith plays the role of Chris Gardner, a struggling salesman trying to be a stockbroker as he takes custody of his son after his wife leaves both of them. This inspiring story leaves many into tears by showing the amount of faith and hardwork Chris has in himself when doors of survival close from all directions and leaves him and his son on the street. And that’s where the goosebumps come in as he begins his life changing professional endeavor. We won’t tell you the rest because it’s worth-watching not telling!


  1. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013)

Every once in a while, we as students need that spark to lift us up regardless of what challenges we’re facing at that particular moment and we get frustrated by the things around us. Well! If you’re feeling like that right now, we definitely got something worth your while When Ben Stiller (Walter Mitty), tired of his tedious life, suddenly decides to turn it upside down by breaking the barriers of limits of life and decides to find the unknown by embracing the journey of his lifetime!

This is certainly one of our go to movies when we need something to inspire us! Something to motivate us and tell us that nothing is impossible when you start working for it, when you start loving it!
